Adaptation of award-winning board game

Stone Age: Digital Edition is a subscription-based strategy game designed by Acram Digital based on the acclaimed family board game of the same name. Like in the original tabletop game, players take control of a tribe, collecting resources and building structures to expand their village. As resources become scarce, you must compete with other developing tribes for limited spaces.

As a worker placement game, Stone Age: Digital Edition lets you assign workers, in this case, prehistoric people, to perform specific tasks. With the right planning, coupled with some outside-the-box thinking, you can turn your primitive village into a sprawling civilization.

Advance human civilization

The casual game Stone Age: Digital Edition adds to the growing list of video game adaptations of classic board games, which already includes Monopoly Plus and Wingspan. Based on the prehistoric-themed Eurogame, the digital release brings the award-winning tabletop experience to your screens with practically the same mechanics. As with the original, it involves taking charge of a tribe and developing their village toward a higher form of civilization.

Using primitive tools, you have to gather wood, break stones, and pan gold to gain knowledge and scale up your village. Resources are limited, so you need to compete with neighboring villages for additional land to feed and sustain your tribe. The game follows turn-based mechanics, with each turn divided into three simple steps. In brief, you have to place your workers, assign them tasks, and feed them.

The end goal is to grow your village into a great civilization and become a powerful leader, which takes proper planning and some creative thinking to reach. In online PvP mode, you can play against fellow civilization builders from around the world, complete with divisions and a ranking system. Meanwhile, you can go against AI for valuable resources in single-player mode, although the AI’s difficulty levels are not beginner-friendly.

Engaging and replayable

Designed in consultation with the original creators of the board game, Stone Age: Digital Edition promises a fun-filled experience not only with your family and friends but also with random players online. With its casual yet immersive gameplay, you are sure to come back and grind for hours just to reach new heights for your humble but hard-working tribe. The AI challengers, though, are uncompromising for solo starters.
